Aitkin Lake Resort and Campground, located on the south-west shore of Aitkin Lake, was established in 1926. Our undeveloped wooded area is rare to find in such close proximity to a metropolitan area.

This is a spot where you can still enjoy complete peace and tranquility. Many kinds of wild flowers can be seen along our wooded trails, including the Minnesota State Flower, the Showy Lady Slipper. It is a photographer’s and nature lover’s delight.

Aitkin Lake is a wilderness-type lake noted for the many species of waterfowl and wildlife. Some of them include the bald eagle, deer, black bear, otter, beaver and a wide variety of ducks and water birds. The many bays and inlets are enjoyed by the fisherman and canoeist alike.
