Pine Tree Park ( Blackduck )
Blackduck is named after the beautiful nearby lake. When Blackuck was settled, the lake was a feeding place for the Black Mallard, so many ducks covered the 2,700 acre lake it became a virtual sea of blackness, thus led to its name "Blackduck."
We are located along the northewest edge of the Chippewa National Forest, 28 miles north of Bemidji on Hwy 71. With the continental divide located just outside the city limits, many people consider the town to be located "on top of the world!" The waters north of the divide flow to Canada's Hudson Bay, while the waters south flow to the Gulf of Mexico. The city is in the center of a unique recreational area abounding scenic attractions. There is something for everyone during the beautiful Minnesota four seasons from shopping, hiking, boating activities, fishing, canoeing, camping, golfing, bird watching, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and hunting, "jsut to name a few."
